Career Building International Academy
Kathmandu, Nepal
2022
Career Building International Academy (CBIA) operates with the prime objective of providing quality education at an affordable cost to locals of the Pepsi Cola area, Kathmandu. A Dutch Foundation based in the Netherlands has supported CBIA for many years. The school is not only one of the best in academics but is also known for providing opportunities for extracurricular activities.
Volunteer Society Nepal (VSN) was founded to realize the dream that brave and generous volunteers across all geographies and backgrounds can work together to bring about genuine, sustainable change for Nepali communities. VSN encourages and invites international volunteers and organizations to improve the lives of Nepali people by participating in local projects.
VSN introduced Ekipi to CBIA and worked with us to develop a plan. With help from Ekipi, CBIA introduced a comprehensive sports program that includes:
- Football (Soccer) training and team development
- Basketball training and team development
- Table Tennis training
- Badminton training
- Participation in local tournaments
Ekipi facilitated the program at CBIA in 2022 to improve the sports infrastructure at the school. The goal was to provide CBIA students with quality sports equipment to pursue their favorite extracurricular sports activities, compete in local tournaments, and establish CBIA teams as leading sports teams in the area. CBIA students develop teamwork, grit, physical fitness, and mental health by participating in sports.
With Ekipi's support, CBIA introduced:
- PE classes for students of grade 4 and above
- 90 minutes per week per student to play the game of their choice
- Advanced training for talented players and school teams
In the past, CBIA has emerged as the champion in both junior and senior versions of inter-school football tournaments and basketball tournaments in the area. CBIA aims to become a top sports school in Kathmandu. Ekipi's one-time contribution provided the impetus.
